A Brief History of the Department

Sri Sarvgna management Bangalore started First Grade College of Arts and Commerce, in Nelamangala in the year 1984. Later due to poor admission, Commerce course was discontinued.

In the year 1989 Sarvagna Management Education Society, after taking over the college in the year 1990. The Management with the permission of Bangalore University re-introduced the commerce course. In the same year the department began to function with 21 students grew from strength to strength every year. At present it has got 240 students.

In the year 1990 Smt. Suchitha Hosmane, Sri. J. Ramu appointed as lecturers in Commerce. In the year 1992, Sri Krishnamurthy was appointed as a par-time lecturer. As he got the appoinedt as a lecturer in Govt Junior College he left college and in his place Sri. Dakshinamurthy was appointed as part-time lecturer.

In the year 1995 Sri. Ramu left the college due to his appointment in Govt College. Than Smt. Chandrika was appointed as a part-time lecturer.

In the year 1997 Sri Dakshinamurthy left the college due to getting a Govt job. Sri. G.Satheesha kumar and Smt. H.C.Sarasa were appointed as lecturer.

In the year 2002 Sri. G. Sathiskumar and Smt. H.C. Sarasa were elevated a fulltime lecturer on consolidated pay by the management . In the year 2001, Computer Science was introduced as one of the subject in B.Com course. Sri. Premkumar was appointed as a lecturer. After he left the college in the year 2002, Sri Venugopal was appointed in his place. After his exit in 2003 Kum. B.Sushma was appointed as a lecturer in Computer Science.

At present Sri. H.S.Prakasha handling the department who has also worked as lecturer in economics for the last 9 years. After the completion of M.Com degree he has been put in charge as head of the department.

The other faculty members were appointed by the management. They are Sri.K.Kempegowda, Smt. S.G.Kalavathi, Smt.C.Lavanya and Smt Chaithra on consolidated pay as full-time lecturer, Sri.H.P.Manukumar and Sri. S.K Shivakumaraiah has a part-time lecturer.
